As of August 29th, the main construction area between Whittemore Ave and the MBTA Headhouse will be secured to isolate the public from the construction zone. The traffic pattern changes to Whittemore Ave will be completed by early September, but there will still be some road excavations for utility disconnections.
Other activities along Whittemore Ave will include:
- Lot C: New building material mockup display; field office/job trailer installations
- Lot B: Renovations to the small building
- Building 1: Activity related to demolition with new interior construction activity starting by the end of the month
- Building 2: Significant demolition activity of the exterior envelope
The structural demolition of the remaining existing buildings should start by the end of September. On the southern side of the buildings 1 & 2 , there will be activities related to tent erecting for future soil disturbing work along with sub-surface non-soil disturbing probing for any potential obstructions in the footprint of new building #4.
Any modifications and improvements to the public pathways on the west side of the property running from Whittemore Ave down along Parkway Pond to the MBTA Headhouse Plaza area will also continue throughout the month.
