Whittemore Ave neighborhood area and North Parking Lots:

  • Building 1: Ongoing activities related to interior construction.
  • Building 2: Continued construction activity related to both interior and exterior.
  • Building 3: Continued construction activity related to both interior and exterior.
  • North Parking Lot D: Tenting & excavation has been completed. 
  • North Parking Lot C: Tenting & excavation is in the planning and pre-construction phase.
  • East Parking Lot: Tenting operations are 90% completed. Open excavation in clean imported material is underway for footings and foundations related to the parking lot Solar Panel Canopy.
  • Tent #1 will become active with soil disturbing activities along the walkway leading toward the MBTA Headhouse.
  • Large white tents #2 and #4 will be active with soil disturbing activities with sequential moves south of Buildings 4 and 5.  
  • Large white tent #3 will be active with soil disturbing activities at the southeast corner of Building 3.  
  • Large white tents on the west side of the construction site adjacent to the DCR walking path will be active with soil disturbing.
  • Gate A has been reestablished as the primary entrance & exit to the main construction site.  Gate E near the jug handle road is temporarily closed for tenting operations.

Building 4 concrete foundations and footings have been completed. Open excavation in clean soils will be conducted in the footprint of the building for utilities.

The installation of remaining piles in the footprint of Building 5 and the Garage are still to be determined.

The temporary Eversource electrical substation near Harvey Street is currently active and providing temporary construction power throughout the site. Temporary overhead electrical lines and poles are all installed throughout the site for the distribution of electricity.

Construction heaters are being used in Buildings 2 and 3 and are running 24/7 to heat temperature sensitive construction activities. These heaters are kerosene fueled and have been granted a noise ordinance variance.

Some generators continue to run during regular working hours to support a variety of construction activities. No generators are being run off hours.

Maintenance and trash pickup along the public pathways on the west side of the property running from Whittemore Ave down along Parkway Pond to the MBTA Headhouse Plaza is ongoing. Activation of the emergency call box phones on the most southern section is still work in progress.
